This photo was taken at my dining table. Alfie, our cat was sat on my daughters knee and he allowed me to take this beautiful shot. It was only taken on an iphone4.Time
A real lucky shot. Taken with iphone4 back in 2013. He was sat on my daughters knee at the dining table opposite me. So I was able to lean across and whilst steadying my elbows on the table I was able to get really close. Alfie has the most beautiful eyes. I'm sure he didn't even notice me.Lighting

I usually use a Canon 60D with a micro lense but I would have frightened Alfie away with that.Feedback
Keep a look out for just the right moment as you can try hard and get really frustrated so a lot is luck. Being in the right place at the right time. It is hard not to get red eyes when shooting animals so by using a flash can spoil and also frighten the animal.
