Behind The Lens

Location

I took this in my back yard in Oxnard California.

Time

This was taken midday.

Lighting

The lighting was natural under a bright midday sun with no clouds.

Equipment

I used my Nikon D7000 with my Nikkor 105mm Macro lens on my Manfrotto tripod. I used my remote to trigger the shot. I also used a spray bottle with water to make the berries a little more shiny.

Inspiration

It was near lunch so I pulled out the strawberries and blueberries, that we got from our son-in-law who is a strawberry farmer, and they were beautifully colored and decided i wanted to try and take this picture. I put the strawberries and blueberries on a plate and tried a bunch of different ways. That lasted until the hunger took over and I ate the models. haha.

Editing

There was very little processing done to this. It was brightened just a touch.

In my camera bag

Depends on which bag. I have a backpack that carries 2 cameras 5 lenses and flashes with a tripod tie on the outside of the bag. When I am out hiking or off roading I carry a smaller bag with 1 camera and 3 lenses with a tie to carry my tripod.

Feedback

My only advice for something like this is experiment with everything. Just looking in your refrigerator can give you ideas. Everything around you can become a subject for a photo. They all tell stories.
