Behind The Lens

Location

This Photo was taken in Troy Montana. On the Back side of a delightful body of water called Savage Lake. You climb straight up several hundred feet then drop down into a cathedral type space that arches above your head for at least fifty feet. Into this wonderful place a beautiful falls cascades down from several hundred feet down the side of the mountain.

Time

time of the day was early afternoon. I set up my camera on a tripod and shot this with a wide angle lens. The light was pretty straight up and down. Which was an advantage for this particular site because of the deep cliff walls that shaded the area most of the day.

Lighting

the time of the day was critical because of the depth of the ravine. It was fortunate circumstances that got this beautiful shot for me.

Equipment

Actually at the time this photo I was just a beginner. I had a affordable Panasonic camera with the Lumix Lens technology 12x zoom and a good tripod. I screwed on the wide angle lens and started taking random close up shots just to Mess around.

Inspiration

the place inspired me. It is one of my favorite places.

Editing

In my camera bag

I keep upgrading my Panasonic Lumix 12X zoom. Like the size and the great video it takes the Lumix lens has never let me down. I am a videographer so most of my money is invested in my HD video camera.

Feedback

Just keep experimenting and reading and learning. When you find something that works well with your camera keep notes and repeat the experience.
