It is a lesson of light. You got a sweet contrast on a very contrasted original theme, without lose the wonderful colors. Congrats!

I love this image Chrissy. It's innocence, curiosity, nature done in a subdued fashion and all rolled up into one beautiful package. Nice capture of a natural moment.

I love those bubbles! What a neat little addition to an already wonderful image. Also adore the matte post-processing. I am all things matte right now. Congrats!!

Location
I took this photo in my backyard as we were playing with a bubble machine.Time
This was shot at golden hour, when I shoot most of my photos.Lighting
I always shoot in the evenings when in my back yard. I think knowing your location well and what the best light is for said location is very important. Golden and blue hour seem to work best for me here at home!Equipment
Natural light, Canon 5D Mark ii, and I am fairly certain with my 50mm prime ( it is my favorite lens!)Inspiration
I just wanted to shoot some pictures of my daughter playing in a cute dress. When the bubbles started floating over our tiny back fence and I saw her on her tippy-toes, I thought it might make a good photo!Editing
I use PS CS6, and this was edited when I was really into the matte look. I adjusted in RAW and used matte photoshop actions. In my camera bag
At the time of this image, I had a Canon 5D Mark ii, Canon 50mm 1.4, Tamron 70-300mm, and a kit lens. Now, I have a Mark iii and Sigma Art 50mm which hardly ever comes off my camera. I love prime lenses!Feedback
As I mentioned before, knowing best light and time of day in any given location is super important. Also, staying ready for little moments, particularly with children, is key. I was ready and happened to notice her by the fence and snapped this photo even though it was not what I had originally intended.
