Behind The Lens

Location

I grabbed this photo on my way home from the college where I work as the University Staff Photographer.

Time

It was at the end of the day, after the sun was down. The sky was this beautiful surreal gold with purple clouds. This was the final bit of color before the sky faded into night.

Lighting

I under-exposed the image to try and really bring out the color.

Equipment

Nikon D750 500mmF4 at f5.6. I balanced it on the roof of my car.

Inspiration

It was too beautiful to not shoot.

Editing

Basic processing in Lightroom.

In my camera bag

Currently: A Nikon D850, D810, D800 SB700 and SB 800 strobes, Godox wireless triggers. 50mm f1.8, 70-200mm f2.8E, 24-120mm f4, 14mm f2.8, 24mm f1.8, 14mm macro, 55mm macro. 2X teleconverter. Batteries, cards and cleaning cloths. First aid kit, other gear as needed.
