Location
I took this photo in Washjngton D.C. I was walking back from the first ever march on Washington for the disease Endometriosis. It was 25 degrees that day w 25 mph winds. As we walking back to the car we ducked in every building we could. We went down this hallway and when I turned around I just had to capture the beauty of this hallway. There are quotes all along the wall. That hallway told of a journey and we had truly just been on a journey ourselves so I took a quick shot before walking on.Time
It was towards the end of the day, not yet sunset, but the sun was beginning its descent.Lighting
Yes, the sun was coming through at its very last stages before making the hallway naturally dark, that was another reason i took the shot.Equipment
I was using my Nikon Coolpix camera that dayInspiration
I love architecture; the lines, curves, edges of buildings, stairways, hallways. I walked through the hallway reading the inscriptions on the wall and before turning the corner I looked back and it just captured me. It was also the weekend and no one was there, whereas normally it would have been crowded w people. I appreciated the quiet moment.Editing
I did not alter this photo at all. No filters or enhancements. In my camera bag
I am still quite the amateur. I have a big backpack full of lenses, filters, tripod, grips, all the fixings. However, it just usually me and my camera and one extra long range lens.Feedback
Symmetry and instinct. When there is a natural flow and consistency to the lines of the hallway, stairway, etc. And the best guidance, your instinct, when you see something and it kind of catches your breath, that is the shot.
