Behind The Lens
Location
This shot was actually captured in my bedroom. I am self-taught so each shoot is a learning experience for me...Time
Well, the inspiration came at around 10 a.m. on a Sunday. I was lying in bed and thinking about The Matrix movie and the idea hit. I sat up and began to visualize how to pull it off. I knew I wanted to utilize Photoshop as I was learning the basics of the program. I actually shot this about 11:30 a.m.Lighting
A nice explanation on her lighting from Lisawiza: “I wanted this image to look mysterious and to draw the viewer into a scene in a story. There was some beautiful light from the lamppost outside the park gates but it needed more. I decided headlights would be a great way of lighting the scene and adding drama as well as making the story even more intriguing.â€Equipment
I shot this with my Nikon D7100. I was setup on my tripod with remote triggering. No flash as I liked the lighting for the idea...Inspiration
The Matrix is my all-time favorite movie! I loved it so much that I wanted to be in it and this was an immediate way to achieve my dream.Editing
I utilized Photoshop to add in the matrix code into the background and into the lenses of my glasses...In my camera bag
My D7100 is always the first thing in the bag. I usually always carry my 35mm 1.8 and my 18-105mm. And I carry my SB-910 just in case.Feedback
This was my very first concept shot, so lessons that I take forward are to plan the shot. Think through all of the issues and plan work arounds. It makes it somewhat easier to work from a plan as opposed to just on the fly...
