Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo right outside of my screened in porch. The butterfly was skittish, so I had to keep very still, and slowly open the door.

Time

The picture was taken in the morning around 10:00. I was taking a break from work when I noticed it flying around the marigolds.

Lighting

I wasn't really concerned with the lighting, only getting the shot.

Equipment

Camera was Canon Rebel XTi with a Sigma 28-300mm ( handheld ) with no flash, since I didn't want the butterfly to go away.

Inspiration

The orange colors were too good not to take a photo of it. I wonder if the butterfly could see colors, since it was basically the same colors as the marigolds.

Editing

I used the photo software that came with my camera. I sharpened it some, from what I remember.

In my camera bag

Canon Rebel XTi with a Canon 100-400mm + Canon 80-200mm. Unfortunately, the Sigma is broken, so I won't be using anymore.

Feedback

Just keep your eyes open....great photo opportunities are everywhere.
