Sometime early afternoon.Lighting
It was a heavily overcast condition that day so most of my images came out a bit under-exposed which I didn't mind since it worked for creating the grayish, wintry mood and allowed me to contrast the pink and the blue of the eye.Equipment
I used a simple Canon Powershot, hand-held, no flash.Inspiration
The mood of grayish winter I find quite depressing sometimes but contrasting that negative color-mood with an unexpected, vivid color can bring out a great result. At least, that was my intention.Editing
Absolutely. I did blur, saturation, desaturation and I used an artistic layer for the rough/messy/scratchy effect. In my camera bag
A newer version of my Canon Powershot and many battery packs... they always seem to die out (the batteries) just before my "one of a lifetime" shot. LOLFeedback
Playing and creating with layers is my passion. I love the original, clean photos also but so much more you can achieve with unique, artistic layers. (Credit for the awesome layers to Kim Klassen and Leslie Nicole) It's worth to try.
