Behind The Lens
Location
My first trip to Europe, and my first DSLR. Beginner photographer with a deep love of beautiful things. I took this photo at St. Peter's Basilica. Above the alter and St. Peters chair the beautiful stained glass window and angel sculptures.Time
It was mid-morning in Rome and I was lucky that the sun was shinning and it was a beautiful day. The peering sun through the stained glass is what caught my attention to the window. It was simply amazing.Lighting
The lighting was tricky, no flash allowed.Equipment
I used a Nikon D40 with a 55-200 mm lens.Inspiration
The beauty of the light coming through the window inspired me to take the photo. It was just an awesome sight that needed capturing. I wanted to get a clear shot of the dove in the center. I could not have been happier with the results.Editing
No, I did not do post-processing, it wasn't needed. In my camera bag
I carry only my camera and cloth to clean the lens. have had great success without any extra equipment and I am happy about not having the extra weight.Feedback
My advice for others is, take the picture and have patience. Pay attention to your subject. I only had my camera a couple of months and was a beginner at photography when I took this picture.
