Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in an abandoned orphanage, near the town where I live. I found this place on google maps.

Time

Was taken in the afternoon. It was a day that I go out with friends just to do photos.

Lighting

When thinking in light of the scene, I wanted to feel like an analog picture; a visual film.

Equipment

I used simple equipment; a Canon EOS T1i with the 18-55mm kit lens. A tripod, an umbrella placed on the right side of the model, with a youngnuo flash.

Inspiration

The inspiration for this photo and others; came from the work of Storm Thorgerson and Hipgnosis studio in StormStudios.

Editing

The post processing of this photo is also not very complex. It is composed of two images in layers. The picture from left is the model with your natural skin. The right of the model with skin retouched. The idea / photo question is, is there beauty without photoshop? Yes of course! It's the answer.

In my camera bag

I usually take with me one Sigma 18-35mm f / 1.8 DC lens ART. A Canon 50mm f / 1.8 and a tripod. It is enough for great photos.

Feedback

My tip for those who want to do something like it, think well before doing photo. Study on lighting, light is very important. And always make enough experiments. Do not be afraid to experiment.
