IMO almost perfect. I like a mood, style, composition, details...but why his left eye is out of focus? And the hair on the top of his head could be very easy fixed in post. But over all; gorgeous shot!

Location
This was taken in the family/TV room at the back of my house which faces East.Time
Michael was on a visit from London, so I only had 20 minutes to get a few shots off at 18:45 in the evening.Lighting
I have always liked photo of the elderly, I feel their faces tell a story. Especially when done B&W. Nothing fancy just a chair placed about 3 feet from a full glass sliding door, with the curtains drawn just to give the right amount of light on him.Equipment
Photograph was taken with a handheld Canon 7d Mk1 fitted with a Canon 50mm F1.4. Settings were ISO 250, F1.4, SS 1/250Inspiration
I love B&W and portrait photography of elderly people. But for this one, Michael was just out of hospital and had missed his annual visit home to Ireland from London. So while he was visiting I just took the opportunity to take some shot of him. On his return he was back to hospital and sadly he passed away 6 months later. Five years next March 2016. Gone but not forgotten.Editing
Using Lightroom 3, yes that old version must upgrade the laptop to run newer versions of the software. Converted to B&W to a level that I was happy with, then using a preset did a Dragen conversion. In my camera bag
Every piece of Canon lens.......just in case I need it. Now normally just 2 lens.Feedback
Keep it simple.
