Location
Actually, I hate to admit how easy it was to get this photo. It was taken outside of my kitchen window. I sat many a day perched on my counter watching my little hummis. This one was my regular, visited every day for a full season. Jan-December. I named her Willow.Time
If I recall, as this photo was a couple of years ago now, this picture was taken late morning.Lighting
Nothing to share about lighting other then I had hoped for the good natural stuff to be adding light where there needed to be and not so much that there were too many shadows. On this day it was perfect, as it was overcast and gave off just the right amount of light.Equipment
I used my Canon EOS, nothing else. Just pure luck.Inspiration
I have lived many places and have never had such an opportunity to be so close to take a good picture of a hummingbird. And with my location I had several that took up residence in my yard. I challenged myself to get that ultimate hummingbird photo. And thanks to "Willow" here and a few others I was able to get many a photo that I cherish.Editing
NoIn my camera bag
My equipment bag is pretty basic. I have my Canon and my zoom. No bells and whistles in my bag, although, a few more things would be nice :)Feedback
Patience, patience, patience. It took me a long time to get a shot like this, as hummingbirds don't sit still for long , generally. But, patience will eventually pay off.
