Behind The Lens
Location
I had taken another photo of this tree a few years previous and happened to be driving home during a fabulous sunset and just had to drive up the hill to capture another sunset with this solitary tree atop a prominent hill in our city. I am primarily a self-taught photographer and love bold colours so the colours in my lens became a blend of “Blue Hour” and the blush of the sun’s descent.Time
We often see sunsets with fiery hues during the autumn. Unfortunately the brilliant foliage of the Eastern Maples are absent from our landscapes and we are treated to only shades of yellow and gold, however the glorious skies at day’s end do somewhat make up for it.Lighting
This was close to the end of the sunset so l didn’t have much time to shoot many different options.Equipment
My regular camera is a Canon Rebel with a standard lens, but lm not entirely sure if this was shot on my phone. Camera phones have become very sophisticated these days and make them practical to carry at all times, just in case you come upon the perfect shot.Inspiration
The sun was setting and the most gorgeous colours were filling the sky and l knew l was not far away from this tree.Editing
This photo was taken quite a while ago but l believe that l only brightened the foreground a little so as not to loose the brilliant colours. In my camera bag
A Canon Rebel with two different zoom lenses.Feedback
Always have a camera on hand, even if it’s a phone camera.
