Having a bit of confusion here.

The sun is not spherical as one would expect at the shutter speed needed to freeze the bird's motion. I also can't quite figure out what might cause the vertical striations in the sun below the bottom cloud where it transits the sun.

Additionally, I can't figure out why the clouds would appear brighter than the sun at the transit points. I would think if they were visible at all, they would appear darker rather than lighter.
