The eagles I usually take pictures of are flying overhead or perched high up in a tree along the shores of Lake Erie. This eagle was born in 1977 and lives at the Cleveland Zoo. She has cataracts on her eyes so she doesn't fly much which of course makes it easier to take a picture of her close up.

A great capture... at least she is safe at the zoo :)

I really love the American Bald Eagle. I have not photograhed one yet, but possibly will be going to Lake Livingston in this month. I hope I get one soon. This is a great shot!

Thanks! This picture was taken at the Cleveland Zoo but living across the road from Lake Erie (Northeast Ohio) makes it possible for me to see them often. It never gets old seeing them but it can be difficult to get a good picture of them. The eagles are usually looking for dinner about an hour before sunset so that is when I take my camera with me to the lake.
