Couldn't stop laughing at this one... how laid back can one get.... hilarious. Love all your photos just amazing the re-enactment with period piece clothing. The Thomas the Train is my grandson's favorite character and has been for 4 years... I have never seen a child hold solely on to one toy for that long and Thomas is his only one! Thanks for sharing you have an amazing collection!

Behind The Lens
Location
Cleveland Metroparks Zoo, Ohio.Time
I was visiting the zoo with a friend taking pictures of the animals in hopes of improving our photography skills. Unfortunately, we selected Ohio's hottest day of the year to visit. When we came to the Meerkat exhibit, they were trying to find a way to stay cool just like all of the other animals (including the visitors). They were so entertaining to watch. This photo was taken around 1:00 PM.Lighting
The sun was very bright at 1:00 PM, not a cloud in the sky. This unfortunately created a shadow on his face when he leaned back so that the log would get the sun off of him.Equipment
I was shooting with a Nikon D3100, 300 mm lens, handheld, no tripod or flash.Inspiration
The Meerkats were so much fun to watch and were pretty active even with the heat. Timing though was everything. Three of us were taking photos and I was the only one to get this pose. He held this pose for a very short time and the other two did not click in time. It was definitely luck. I won a free entrance pass for the year for this photo.Editing
Post-processing included cropping and reducing the shadows on his face.In my camera bag
I usually shoot with a Nikon D800, 24-70 mm is my go to lens, but I also carry a 50 mm, 14-24 mm, 200 - 500 mm, Manfrotto tripod with gimbal, Nikon D5200, and a SB-700 Speedlight.Feedback
For this photograph, timing was everything (and maybe a little luck). You need to pay attention to what the subject is doing and try to predict their next move.
