This image was captured at Somersby Falls at Somersby near Gosford in NSW, it was taken around 1pm in the day utilising long exposure techniquesTime
The image was captured during the day utilising long exposure techniques and ND400 filter (Black Glass), I love the effect that is obtained by using this type of filter.Lighting
I wanted the image to look as though time had stopped, capturing that beauty that is a waterfall just misting down and looking mystical and beautifulEquipment
This image was captured on a Canon 5DMIII with 24-105 lens and ND400 filter attached.Inspiration
The beauty of waterfalls has always fascinated me and going into photography and finding was rot slow time with long exposure techniques really thrilled me, it draws such beauty out of sometimes just a plain scene.Editing
This particular image is basically straight out of camera, there was some minor tweaks in photoshop to being out a bit of colour. In my camera bag
Always take my main body, these days it happens to be Olympus OMD E5MIII and 40-150ml lens with a 2 x attachment as well as 7-14 wide angle, as well as my normal kit of filters and flash gear as needed.Feedback
Highly recommend getting into this style of photography, the images that can be produced using long exposure as well as it's simplicity at times makes for some wonderful moments in photography, and the best part there is a plethora of youtube vids that help anyone to get great results, with even the most basic cameras and lenses, as long as it has a manual or bulb mode you are just about set, also ND filters these days are very obtainable for all lens types and most are reasonably priced.
