Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at the back of a screen printing facility. It is a leaky faucet that shows water in motion and how many of us take clean water for granted.

Time

This was around noon at springtime in South East Michigan. The sun was shining bright so I was able to use a high shutter speed without flash.

Lighting

This water wasn't actually dripping, in fact it seemed to have been coming out so fast you couldn't see the individual drops until you took the picture at a high frame rate.

Equipment

I used a Canon t2i but unfortunately this pic was taken so long ago that I have lost the original and I'm no longer able to receive the specification information.

Inspiration

I didn't have much inspiration from anything but nature.

Editing

I had to increase the sharpness and saturation of the photo to truly bring out the vest in it.

In my camera bag

I normally carry around my Canon t2i body with 2 lenses. My Canon 50mm prime lens and my Zeiss 75mm to 250mm zoom lens. I also carry a few extra memory cards and batteries. Sometimes you end up taking more than you imagined.

Feedback

If you want to capture something like this, make sure you have enough light to get your shutter speed high without having to increase your ISO too much. The higher your ISO the more grain will be in you picture. The high shutter speed will allow you to capture the fast water movements.
