Behind The Lens

Location

St. Augustine beach, last summer.

Time

It was about 4 oclock in the afternoon, not my favorite time of the day for shooting, but the beach looks beautiful if captured correctly at this time of day.

Lighting

The sun...which actually lit up everything enough to reflect on the vehicle, something really cool I didnt even notice until later.

Equipment

Actually this was shot with an Iphone. The good thing about phone cameras, we always have them on us.

Inspiration

I drove my car right up to the sign, I wanted to go further, but decided to take a cool photo instead.

Editing

I did a little sharpening, thats about it.

In my camera bag

In my camera bag I carry a Canod 60D with kit lens and a couple older sigma lens. As well as a Canon 430exii flash. But, this was taken with my phone.

Feedback

Beaches are usually more fun as the sun starts to set. However, if you do it right you can take fun beach photos any time of the day. Also, be spontaneous. Look for things (like this sign) to make the scene more than just a beach photo. Have fun!
