This photo one an Honorable mention in the "Circles" contest on 2010. I never replied to the email so I guess that is why It doesn't appear as so on m

taken with a 35mm Film camera. I sandwiched two different negatives into the tray and exposed them to create this image.

this little crab i came across at the beach. Crawling on people's towels and such.

This is not photoshoped :) I drew out the clouds and hung them along with an actual light bulb. light writing.

Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo at a photo studio I used to hang out at on the weekends.

Time

This was taken in the evening

Lighting

This was a set up in a studio and indoors.

Equipment

I Used a canon t1i for this photo and used a strobe flash.

Inspiration

This photo was inspired by the idiom "bees knees." It was part of a 12 photo series based off the popular sayings.

Editing

The "bees" are actually hanging on thread, so after the photo was taken I edited the thread out to make them seem as if they really are flying. There was also some beauty re-touching on the legs since they are a focal point in this photo.

In my camera bag

I normally carry my Lumix Gx7, a battery pack, and a kit lens. I do not carry too much on me normally unless I am photographing an event. When I photograph events I use a Nikon D90 with a 50mm lens and an external flash.

Feedback

This was a creative photoshoot. I did not want to make it more than the message I was trying to convey. I could not make the bees fly, but I was able to fix that problem in post production which I feel is important for people to remember. I always like to do as much as I possibly can while making the photography, and as little post production as possible in the end.
