Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in Sienna, Italy. It was during a wonderful vacation with my parents and my brother. We were walking through the beautiful streets of Sienna when my brother and my father were a bit ahead of my mother and I, so I took the opportunity to take the photo.

Time

Just after lunch. Nothing better than Italian food from a real Italian restaurant.

Lighting

Simple natural lighting. It was during the winter time, so the sun isn't as bright. A mid afternoon light and the surrounding buildings blocking it gives a dark perceptive.

Equipment

Just my Canon camera.

Inspiration

I have always had a thing for people watching. It really makes me think about life and reflect about it. So watching my dad and my brother walking and taking in how beautiful Sienna was (probably cracking a joke or two), I really had to capture that moment.

Editing

A few shadow enhancement on Picasa, as well as making the photo slightly warmer.

In my camera bag

My Canon camera! Not much of a high tech girl, I do with my camera around my neck all the time.

Feedback

Take your time. Be patient. After years of photography that is what has helped me the most, both in taking better pictures and in life. And dont take just one photo!! If you're not happy with your photo, take as many as you need, although precision and time is also of the essence.
