One of my favorite trips I've been on is visiting the nation's capital in Washington DC. The vast amount of craftsmanship, art, architecture, and history is astounding. Everywhere you look is a new perspective and price of US history. As I toured the capital building half my time was staring upward at exquisite ceilings like this one

Very nice photo! I was there once in '87. The layers make it look much lower than it really is.
