A distant thunderhead billows and grows as it approches the Red Rocks National Conservation Area in southern Nevada. When these storms strike it is no time to ne in the open desert as flash flooding and dangerous lighting accompany these storms. I was mesmerized watching the fast growing thunderhead and hiked back to my car with plenty of time to spare.
