Unlike the floating markets in Thailand, where buyers often just sit on the riverbank, at Lok Baintain market, buyers will go to boats to sell the goods they need and the exchange of goods takes place right on the boat, quite similar to floating market in Vietnam. The vendors (most of whom are women) use jukung boats, a small wooden boat with rowing machines, not motorized. The entire river area is filled with the colors of fruits filled with boats, and the colors of traditional costumes that women wear to the market. The goods at Lok Baintan floating market are very diverse, especially tropical fruits. Agricultural products have just been harvested locally so they are very fresh. Many types sold at this market are hard to find in big cities. There are also boats selling meat, fish, seafood, traditional cakes and clothes.
