The moated castle of Haus Welbergen, whose origins date back to at least the 13th century, is a prime example of a medium-sized aristocratic residence in the Münsterland region. In classic fashion, it consists of a bailey and main castle, surrounded by a ring of moats.

The baroque main building, which is completely surrounded by water, is only accessible via a narrow bridge. Today, it opens its doors for special occasions, concerts and group tours by appointment.
