Location
I captured a photo of these Finnish archipelago herring sandwiches in the archipelago of Hanko in Bengtsår Finland.Time
December 10, 2017 at 3:09 p.m.Lighting
Clear and cloudy weather by the sea. No auxiliary lights.Equipment
I only had an Apple iPhone SE available.Inspiration
I wanted to combine the lichen found in the stones and rocks of beautiful nature and a traditional sandwich of the archipelago type made from traditional Finnish rye bread and herring from the sea.Editing
I used Luminar AI. I chose a template which suited to the photo’s style and to the result which I wanted, made a crop and straightened the horizon. I also set the light settings and little sharpness. My style is to keep my photos as authentic as possible. I don't ever do post-process too much.In my camera bag
I normally have in my pack Canon EOS 6D, Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L USM, Canon EF 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 DO IS USM, Canon EF 50mm f/2.5 Compact Macro and Canon Extension Tube EF25. Sometimes I have a Canon PowerShot G1 X Mark II with fixed 12.5-62.5mm lens as an option. Canon Speedlite 430EX II and Yongnuo Digital Transmitter Speedlite ST-E2 are also often found. And one-two chargers with extra batteries. In addition, a connection cable for a MacBook, and lens hoods. If necessary, I have a Manfrotto 190B tripod and Manfrotto 141RC 3-Way Pan Tilt Head.Feedback
Feel free to use your own creativity and create your own bold compositions and angles. At least, don't place all the main objects in the middle of the image, but use e.g. the Rule of thirds or Golden ratio composition guids when capturing. Get to know and use the techniques of still life photography.
