Those lagoons are part of the Ozogoche lake complex, composed of 55 lagoons, in the foothills of the Ecuadorian Cordillera Real.
Also known as the lake of punishment or lake of penitence because this was a place of punishment to those who violated the laws of the native Puruhaes Indians. The prisoners were abandoned on an island in the middle of the main lake until they starved or drowned as they attempted to swim in the cold waters.
In landscape photography you still need a little bit of luck... And always do with what the climate and nature offers you. It is always good to insist and try even if the conditions are bad. It was raining hard and thick black clouds covered the whole sky. Moreover, it was 3 o'clock in the afternoon. Really not an hour to enjoy beautiful lights. But I was not far away. Nevertheless, I went to the spot, under the rain. And after a while the rain stopped and some gaps appeared in the dramatic sky. A few frames later I was able to capture a perfect lighting of shadows and lights spots.
