The stone must be there for a reason but for the life of Me I can't imagine what? Another super door shot to add to your collection.

It looks like the support to a construction company's wire fence, which they will have used when pebble-dashing the lower wall, in order to stop people touching it, and then they simply left it behind, and someone put it there so as to not trip over it.

And I presumed (though one should never) that the stone was used as a door stop...to hold it open on a nice day!
