I captured a photo of naval officer of HMS Albion landing craft in Hernesaari cruise ship pier in Helsinki. I used the rule of thirds as a composition guide. Little info: A British Royal Navy landing craft visited Helsinki May 22-23, 2023, the Coastal Brigade informs.
It is possible for the public to get to know the HMS Albion ship at Munkkisaari pier on Tuesday from 15:00 to 18:00.
HMS Albion is the first of two ships of the Albion class. It was commissioned in 2001 and the ship has a crew of about 400 people. The ship is 176 meters long and almost 30 meters wide.
The naval visit will be hosted by the commander of the Coastal Brigade, Commodore Marko Laaksonen.

The British Royal Navy's landing craft ship HMS Albion visited Helsinki, the ship was at Munkkisaari pier on Monday around noon.
HMS Albion arrived in Helsinki from Sweden, where it participated in the Aurora 23 exercise. After Helsinki, the ship will participate in NATO's annual BALTOPS 23 exercise in the Baltic Sea.
The program also includes bilateral training with the Finnish Navy.
The visit is the Royal Navy's first since Finland joined NATO.
"It's great to get to Helsinki, especially now that Finland has joined NATO. The visit strengthens our presence in the region and is a great opportunity to train with partners," the ship's commander Marcus Hember stated in a press release about the visit.
The public can get to know HMS Albion on Tuesday from 15:00 to 18:00 at Munkkisaari pier. There is no advance registration for the tour, but participants should be prepared for a security check.
HMS Albion last visited Finland in 2021.

Albion, the earliest-known name for the island of Britain. It was used by ancient Greek geographers from the 4th century BCE and even earlier, who distinguished “Albion” from Ierne (Ireland) and from smaller members of the British Isles. The Greeks and Romans probably received the name from the Gauls or the Celts. The name Albion has been translated as “white land”; and the Romans explained it as referring to the chalk cliffs at Dover (Latin albus, “white”).
