This concrete bunker was built by the Germans as an integrated defensive position within the Atlantic Wall. It sits at the top of a 110-foot cliff. This tactical location was important because it provided good observation of the Normandy coast and the English Channel. It was equipped with crew served weapons on the day of the invasion. It now remains quiet as a memory of a very vicious and hostile event. In the end, American Rangers neutralized and then captured the bunker complex.
