Location
While hiking in my favorite spot, the Chautauqua Gorge in Mayville, NY, I saw this drawing made with charcoal. While I generally don’t like to see graffiti in nature, I loved this because it is tasteful and the artist used charcoal, presumably from their camp fire.Time
I don’t remember the exact time I took this, but I do remember that it was late morning or early afternoon.Lighting
The sun was shining behind the tree so I had to move around and use the tree canopy to avoid the sun shining directly into the lens.Equipment
I only used my iPhone SE(2020).Inspiration
The simplicity of the image and the fact that it was created using a natural medium.Editing
The only post-processing I did was cropping .In my camera bag
I only use my iPhone because I never know when I will see a shot that catches my eye. Besides, I don’t really like carrying all kinds of equipment with me.Feedback
I guess he only advice I have is to always keep your eyes open and be ready to capture a shot when you see it.
