Mud baths are said to draw out impurities from the skin, improve skin conditions, relax sore muscles-joints as well as relieve the pain of rheumatoid arthritis. History even purports Cleopatra used to make wraps with mud from the Dead Sea, to maintain her legendary beauty. For years Horses have seemed to have known this and continue to use mud as a body scrub and conditioner, protection against insects and the sun, to cool off on hot days and to have fun and socialize. Horses will often roll in the same spot and in the same pecking order each time. Among breeding males it's been observed, by many, that the dominant male rolls last.
