In this picture you can see the back part of the same spider that I posted in the previous picture. This was my fourth time photographing this species and my first time was also in this place, every year they make their webs and mate here so when I arrived at the place, I was expecting to find at least one. I found this one close to water, in some rocks. This year was the year that I saw more of these spiders, and one in particular was the biggest I have seen so far. They are a large orb weaver spider and they are common to find in Europe, near the water, on bridges, rocks, trees or even on bigger plants. The females can reach a body length of 10–14mm, males 8–9mm and their orb webs can have diameters of up to 70 cm. The common name “bridge-spider” is attributed to its preferential habitat of building webs on bridges.
