I took this picture in a dam called "Barragem da Lameira". On this day I went fishing with my father and my uncle, I went without knowing what I would find. When they went fishing, I went looking for animals to photograph and after walking for a while, I found a hole in the ground. The hole was deep and wide. I thought it might be a hole of an animal, so I decided to grab a small tree branch and I put it in the hole, that's when she got out and I was amazed looking at her, she was quite big! Wherever we go, photography and nature always surprise us.

Behind The Lens

Location

The picture was taken in a dam called "Barragem da Lameira" and the place belongs to a village called Alter do Chão. Wherever we go, photography and nature always surprise us.

Time

This photograph was taken in the afternoon, I lay down on the floor to use a close-up filter 10 to get a better zoom and macro, I had never seen a spider of this species. It was a fascinating moment and it is without doubt one of my photographs that I like more. This was taken on September 20, 2015 at PM

Lighting

On this day it was sunny and I ended up getting her out of the hole. The sun was shining all over the ground which was good, because she did not keep quiet all the time. Equipment

This was shot on a Nikon D3100, with an 18-55mm f.3.5 lens and a close up filter 10, no other equipment was used.

Inspiration

I always like to go fishing with my father, I have always enjoyed shooting spiders. On this day I had the opportunity to photograph this new spider, what inspires me most to photograph these animals, is their colors, their textures, their way of living, survive and among other things. My inspiration comes from nature and the people who follow my photograph and who like it.

Editing

In this photograph, I used post-processing only a little bit in contrast and vibrance, in Photoshop CS6.

In my camera bag

I take always my backpack with my CanonEOS400D, some close-up filters, tripod and some memory cards.

Feedback

I advise all photographers to take pictures in manual mode, the results that we get in manual mode are impressive. I also advise you to always bring a small tripod and some close up filters or a macro lens, to photograph this kind of animals. The best photo moments happen when least expected.
