The secret to this picture is that I increased the contrast two fold. First of all - editing does not do miracles it simply accentuates what is taken (photographed). With that said; Increasing the Contrast usually accentuates the subject by increasing the contrast between the subject & the background- or more accurately by increasing the shadows. In this case- with this picture I was Shocked ! because I forgot about the added benefits of increasing the contrast- and that is indirectly it also increases the color saturation. I am usually against editing of any kind, but every now and then just for kicks I do the basic amount of editing. I did this time because the original was boring because of lack of color and contrast.
So my apologies to Tudorof that I deleted his like when I deleted the original version. My goal is to show only my very best pictures ( top 10 %) of the pictures that I take. I use photography as therapy- as an escape from reality (if you will) or as a cure for depression but, that does not mean that I would want to bore you- the viewer.

Pretty cool, you must have reduced your aperture. The lilies look like gold. I love to go to about 1.8 in brilluant sunshine, because the flowers will be dazxling and not washed out.

The dark b/g makes the flowers sharp and crisp, really stand out. Beautiful capture. Awesome petal textures.
