I was able to photograph Day 2 of G Jones "The Allegory of The Rave" at The Caverns. Let me tell you, not only was this show special, but this entire trip. G Jones is a "I told you so artist" from my partner who's been listening for years and seen several times. I really started getting more into his music last year, trying to prepare for Second Sky. Even though seeing him play a b2b set with Virtual Self was a dream, I was still bummed I couldn't photograph the set. This weekend was super last minute and something I thought I wouldn't get. It was such great news after two other shows got canceled. Even better, Jes found out a few extra tickets were available, since it was sold out, and was able to go. I really wanted to try and get Day 1, but due to bad weather in OH and TN the first night, we settled for Saturday. We drove six hours down to The Caverns (first time being there), worked for the entire set and ate trash food at 3am. Even though I watched the show here and there, the deeper meaning didn't hit me until I was looking at the images on my computer. The show was themed around Plato's "The Allegory of The Cave", which made everything just so much cooler. The trip was also a learning experience, since I'm not the best with low light and I was photographing in a cave haha But very happy I was able to get some photographs from this special event. I still consider myself an amateur with my Concert Photos and even though I have a few shows under my belt, "Allegory" has made it too my second favorite show I've photographed. All of this, mixed with seeing a full G Jones show in a fucking cave will be an experience I will never ever forget!!
