This Red-tailed Hawk was on an outcrop about 2-3 of the way up the 40ft Mexican Fan Palm tree in our backyard. I was out on our courtyard with our 12 lb dog when I spotted the hawk watching us. I scooped up my dog (Schmegle) and brought him quickly inside. I grabbed my camera, and went out the sliding glass doors to the patio in the backyard of our house. Looking up at the palm tree....this is what I saw...
