Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken from Felicite Island in the Seychelles, looking East towards Praslin Island.

Time

This is amongst my favourite images, not only was this taken while we were sitting on the deck of the hotel, but also sipping champagne while the sun set over the island

Lighting

The image did end up being naturally golden brown, but added a unique bronze feel to the image and the different shades gave the image some great depth.

Equipment

I shot this with my Canon 500D (T1i Rebel) handheld and no other equipment.

Inspiration

We were enjoying our champagne on the hotel decking, taking pictures of the fruit bats and our drinks. As the sun set and the clouds passed by, this opportune moment was captured.

Editing

I would try and add some post processing, but this image has only had the horizon straightened and no other edits. "Au Natural"

In my camera bag

I normally carry my Canon 500D, 3 lenses (EFS 18-55mm, 75-300mm & 50mm Prime), spare batteries, emergency rain cover, tripod & MacBook Pro.

Feedback

Opportunity is everywhere and being patient and persistent will pay off. We will always take thousands of images and be very critical of our own work, but sites like this are great for self-esteem and confirmation that you are capable of capturing the image that you want
