Sunset over the mountainous Northern Range in Trinidad - the Northern Range runs from the westernmost tip, the Chaguaramas Peninsula, to the easternmost tip of Trinidad, Toco, in the north of the island - this range of mountains first joined Trinidad to the north eastern tip of Venezuela then the land sunk and left a channel about nine miles across, which separates Trinidad from Venezuela.
