Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken in the epicenter of Old Havana, in Cuba. I was walking back home after finishing a street photo session and I found this man, Mr. of the Crumbs, digging through the garbage cans looking for something to eat.

Time

What time of day?

Lighting

The photograph was taken in natural light. settings Aperture 56/10?ISO 320?Shutter 1/200?Focal Length 300?

Equipment

I was using my Nikon d5300 camera with a 70-300mm lens, without a tripod, and I obturated at a relatively far distance, so he wouldn't see me!

Inspiration

I don't know if being inspired is the correct way to describe it, rather it is a small denunciation of our systems, the abandonment with the elderly, and above all how people their age in my country go hungry. It hurts and pierces the soul to see a man who perhaps yesterday was an educated person, even fought for the revolution, it hurts a lot to see how now they are abandoned. it hurts to know that his lunch could have been those mango peels he was scraping up and that piece of old bread picked up from the garbage can.

Editing

I only revealed to jpg adjusting light. I am not used to touching the photos I take when I am taking photos of the street, or documentaries, much less photoreports of this type, since the truth must be kept intact.

In my camera bag

the only one I have, I live in Cuba and I am poor. I only have a Nikon d5300 camera and a 70-300mm lens that was donated to me at an event in Canada and a friend sent it to me. I couldn't afford a camera like that.

Feedback

My advice is the following, the photos are in every corner, in every dark corridor and in front of ourselves, only if you learn to walk very slowly through the world you will find them and act quickly with the parameters of your camera and capture what the world put you in front
