I took this photo at a nature preserve in Orange County, CA.Time
It was about 6pm in April, fairly close to golden hour.Lighting
My subject is actually backlit and the sun was low in the sky.Equipment

I love the mustard bloom and look forward to photographing in it every year. They usually are more sparse but we had an unusual excess of rain this spring.Editing

My main body is the Canon R6 and my backup is the Canon 6D. My lenses are Sigma 50mm ART, Sigma 35mm ART, Canon 85mm 1.8, and Canon 24-105.Feedback
Shoot with a lens that has good compression and use a shallow depth of field. I focused on the eyes and used flowers in front to get more depth and texture. My model's expression is caught by telling them to look deep into the camera and relaxing the face and lips.
