Lovely portrait. I love the positioning of the hair.

Behind The Lens

Location

I took this on my front porch one spring late afternoon.

Time

It was late in the afternoon where the house eaves provided open shade.

Lighting

I used late afternoon lighting in open shade.

Equipment

This was taken with a Canon 6D and Sigma 35mm Art lens.

Inspiration

I was just taking some quick headshots of my daughter when the breeze kicked up and moved her hair just so.

Editing

I used Photoshop CS6 for editing and a black and white action from My 4 Hens Photography with tweaks.

In my camera bag

I keep it simple. I shoot with a Canon 6D and prime lenses. I love my 35mm and 50mm Sigma Art lenses. I also have a Canon 85mm 1.8.

Feedback

It was just a lucky sho honestly. I was playing around with my duaghter and hoping for a genuine smile when the breeze caught her hair. I tend to shoot a lot of frames when I'm photographing kids because the in between moments provide the best shots with natural expressions.
