Situated west of Townsville in North Queensland Australia, is a living Ghost Town!! Ravenswood is an old, once abandoned Gold Mining township. Left derelict for a long number of years after the alluvial gold initially dried up, the township went into decline, only leaving a few families behind. Recently the township has had a renaissance, a new gold lease gave the town a new life and meaning again. It has come at a cost however, gold has been discovered under a lot of the old landmarks and buildings, and therefore meant the removal and transportation of the buildings to new locations!! Thankfully for us, some of the old Ravenswood still remains today!!
