This is one of my favorite photos!! My husband and I have a business in the Colorado Mountains. Fall is such a lovely time when the Aspen trees are bright with yellows and golds. We stopped along Lake Dillon in Dillon Colorado. I saw this man enjoying his time fishing and could not resist taking this shot. Colorado Mountains are always a beautiful backdrop. They are so majestic!Time
I took this shot mid day. It was still very bright. The sky was a lovely blue with an assortment of clouds.Lighting
I wanted the viewer to see how bright and clear the day was. It was a crisp fall day.Equipment
My camera is a Nikon 5300D. I used a wide angle lens, 10-24mm.Inspiration
My inspiration was a lovely fall day. The sky was clear with beautiful clouds. The mountains had lovely shades of colored shadows across them. The man was relaxing fishing. The Aspen Trees were at their brightest.Editing
The lighting that day was just right for this shot. I did add some brightness to the shot.In my camera bag
I carry my Nikon 5300D. A wide angle 10-24mm lens, Macro 90mm lens and 18-55 lens. I like to keep an extra battery and memory cards. I also have a mini tripod.Feedback
Time of day is very important but can not always capture that moment when you have the right light. That is when Lightroom and Photoshop come in handy. Always try to frame your shot with trees, rocks, etc. Use natural lines to lead up to your main subject. Composition can make or break a shot. Move around and look through your lens to find the best shot.
