Location
There is a small reed thatched church on the west coast of Mauritius called Notre Dame de Fatima where most people sit outside on benches. There is also what we call a grotte with an icon of Marie Magdalena To which my father-in-law was making a silent prayer toifTime
If I recall it was mid morning and since he was facing west we had the sun behind usLighting
No special lighting just using the sunlight as best to my advantageEquipment
The camera is a Canon 7D mk 2 with the standard 18_35 lensInspiration
I like to take natural looking photos of people doing something rather than standing to attention on command such as like at wedding shots. I prefer to capture true moments as they happen and not have a prepared shotEditing
I believe in the image I take with my camera should reflect what I saw with my own eyes and I rarely do any processing except perhaps to make a monochrome from a color imageIn my camera bag
I have a full Tamrac photographers bag with Canon 7dmk2 Canon 6d and believe it or not I still have my trusty friend the canon 1d mk 1. Which weights around 2 kg. I have an assortment of standard Canon lens as, well as a professional white Canon lens for the 1dtryFeedback
Try to capture images of people as they happen and not ask them to pose for photos to see the difference it makes from being a natural looking image against an artificial view
