Behind The Lens

Location

This was shot atop a tea plantation. Usually, the tea plantations run across many hectares of hills. The Wayanad region in Kerala, India has many such plantation. The treelines on top of the hill serve as a nice foreground standing out in the mist.

Time

This was early morning, sunrise.

Lighting

The hills are covered with mist and you get beautiful compositions on a clear day. The sunlight is not harsh and filters through the morning mist make it soft. Also, the mist glows all over with the sunlight and changes the ambient color. The trick it to take your shots just before the sun gets out completely.

Equipment

This was shot using a Samsung mobile. As I was on a family vacation, I resisted to carry my DLSR. However, I could not resist the prospect of witnessing and capturing such a fantastic view. So, I went for it with my mobile.

Inspiration

I have always loved having my vacations in the tea plantation. The early morning ambience created in these valleys and hills is unmatchable. It always gives you many wonderful memories.
