Location
We took this picture from the north rim of the Grand Canyon.Time
It was a July evening, the sun was just going down, and it lit up the dust in the air, showing the depth and layers of rock which during the daytime had appeared uniform and flat.Lighting
It's a perfect combination of two of my favorite hacks, backlighting and golden hour shots.Equipment
The camera was actually a fairly cheap one, but did a good job capturing the scene.Inspiration
Anytime at the Grand Canyon is photo-worthy, but of course the golden hours of sunrise and sunset are guaranteed to make an epic photo.Editing
No post-processing done on this photo. In my camera bag
All I carry generally are spare batteries and a spare card.Feedback
The Grand Canyon is a no-brainer for getting amazing shots, but I've actually found that some of my favorite photos are of the little mundane things that can be found anywhere if you look for them - raindrops on grass, backlit leaves, birds and blooms.
