This photo was taken at Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies in Gatlinburg, TN.Time
Mid-AfternoonLighting
I started practicing lighting techniques weekly by utilizing the aquarium, I just kept adjusting the settings until I got used to it.Equipment
Nikon D-3200, no flash, 38mm standard lensInspiration
I absolutely love Sally but until this shot I had never successfully gotten a decent photo of her. Her and I play hide and seek when I visit the aquarium and usually she's in motion.Editing
I removed some of the algea that had built up on the bottom of her beak but other than that I was blessed to capture this shot.In my camera bag
I always have my standard 38mm lens. I do carry a few filter lenses as well as a macro and telescopic attachment lens but nothing spectacular.Feedback
If you are struggling just keep practicing, the more you do it the more it will become second nature.
