Location
This picture was taken during a couple vacation in the medieval, mountaintop village of Marvão, Portugal. This muss visit city is located near the Spanish border. The Marvão Castle is spectacular and visitors could walk on the city walls and enjoy the amazing view.Time
It was a cold and windy afternoon. At 16:00 we were greeted by 36 °F (2°C) temperatures.Lighting
Usually afternoon pictures are challenging because the sun created unwanted dark shadows. However, to my delight, this cloudy day turned out to be a blessing because the clouds provided the perfect light balance for this image.Equipment
This image was taken with my Samsung A5 Smartphone, which has three cameras. I chose the Smartphone over the Canon because I want to tap to explore the potential of this new profitable market.Inspiration
I have various reasons. Most notorious was the red winter hat, contrasting with the reddish face of the woman and her black outfit. It was simple, too good to let go. Furthermore, the combination of the clouds, soft sunrays, and those inviting, majestic daring rocks enhanced the simplicity of her smile. A picture of pure enjoyment!Editing
A well-balanced image only requires some basic light balance fixing. The right angle is key to reduce the amount of post-processing. Moreover, I believe in taking images that capture the simplicity and beauty of the moment, as seeing through my eyes. I want the viewer to feel behind the lens with me.In my camera bag
My Samsung Smartphone and my Canon EOS 6D. I carry these two cameras because both of them provide me with a lot of image quality options. Likewise, many stock-photography agencies are now accepting Smartphone images because they are of great quality and perfect for Smartphones and Tables screensaver images, etc.Feedback
The village of Marvão is awesome to take pictures. The castle was built in such a way that not only served as a fortress, but also provides for taking pictures from different angles and perspective to enhance the subject. These rocks are toward the end of the city wall. Be open to possibilities, don't lock your creativity, and let your intuition dictate which equipment you will use when capturing an unforgettable moment with your camera.
